About The Role
Lucideon has a long history of successful support of the construction industry with its unique testing and development facilities in Staffordshire.
Our business helps our clients in their development of new construction products and systems, in all forms of materials and combinations.
Job Purpose
As the industry develops and modernises its current construction methods and further evolves its sustainable capabilities, we are growing and diversifying to meet market needs. Following recent investments in exciting new capabilities and equipment improvements, we can offer more services and increase productivity in this busy sector.
Although the team may be considered relatively small with circa 25 colleagues, the devil is in the detail – our highly skilled technical team are pitted against some of the construction industry’s toughest testing challenges, including making sure the roof of Wembley Stadium doesn’t collapse!
Lucideon is looking for a motivated and technically minded Test Engineer to join our Construction – Structures team. In this hands-on role, you will carry out testing on a wide range of construction products and components to British and European standards, as well as bespoke client specifications.
You will play a key role in ensuring products meet required performance expectations, gathering and analysing data, and producing high-quality technical reports. This position also involves direct communication with clients, so confidence and clarity in communication are essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
