Test Engineer — Manchester, 1 day a week — £325 per day — Inside IR35
A UK central government programme is hiring a test engineer at working level. This is a hands-on role. Functional testing, automated suites you build and maintain, and performance testing you design and run — all three, rather than one of them.

What you will do
- Functional testing across the team's services, including test design and defect management
- Build and maintain automated test suites
- Design and run performance tests, and act on what they tell you
- Test across both the front end and the back end of an Azure-based stack
- Work alongside the delivery team in Manchester one day a week
What you need
- Test automation — building and maintaining frameworks, not only executing someone else's
- Performance testing — designing and running load, stress or soak tests, with the tooling
- Functional testing as the base discipline
- Familiarity with both front end and back end testing, including APIs
- Experience of an Azure stack
