I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Us
The mission of Cambridge Aerospace is to eliminate the risk of existential war in Europe. That risk comes from the air: low-cost drones, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and hypersonic weapons that existing defence systems are too expensive, too scarce or too slow to defeat at scale.
We are building a new generation of low-cost interceptors and supporting systems designed to defend against those threats at a price point that allows them to be deployed in meaningful numbers. Our aim is to deliver capability quickly, build sovereign European supply chains and fundamentally change the economics of air defence. Backed by leading venture funds, Cambridge Aerospace is growing rapidly and bringing together some of the best engineers and operators to solve one of the most important technical challenges of our generation.
If you are in the top 1%, willing to work harder than you ever have, build technology better than anyone else, and contribute to the defining challenge of our time, now is the time to join us.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We’re interested in your practical ability, potential and willingness to learn, not just a traditional academic or career path.
