Test Equipment Operational Lead
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated engineer to join the Production Design Support area as Test Equipment Operational Lead.
Salary: Circa £64,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated engineer to join the Production Design Support area as Test Equipment Operational Lead. This role presents the opportunity to lead a team of skilled Electronic Engineers that support various types of Test Equipment from Circuit Card through to Missile and Weapon System.
You'll get to work with and have wide exposure to a wide range of stakeholders, e.g. Head of Test Equipment Centre of Excellence, Manufacturing Engineering Managers, Programme to ensure delivery of design support and to ensure zero downtime in production. This delivery focused role reports to the Head of Test Equipment Design Support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management of the Test Equipment Design Support Delivery Team.
- Provide proactive and reactive support to Test Equipment design issues.
- Delegation of issues to the relevant Support Engineer or Support Lead within the team.
- Offer technical and company guidance on delivery of design support.
- Explore opportunities to improve and enhance Test Equipment.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders within Operations and Programme.
- Support the creation and implementation of Test Equipment Support processes.
- Ensure a robust tasking and reporting structure between the team, the Head of Test Equipment Design Support and stakeholders outside the team.
- Work alongside the Head of Test Equipment Design Support to evolve the Test Equipment Support Strategy.

- Experience in a design and manufacturing environment, with full design lifecycle experience advantageous, but not required.
- Ideally degree qualified or equivalent.
- A Strong, well-rounded technical ability in Electronic Design, preferable.
- An understanding of engineering change process and configuration management.
- Strong leadership abilities, the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to motivate and influence those around you and drive high-performing teams.
- Ability to react to adversity in a positive manner.
- Ability to challenge existing ways of doing things.
- Experience in delegation and the management of tasks and activities.
