Join us as a Test Lead. A hands-on Test Lead to drive quality engineering, test automation and continuous improvement across the department. The role combines technical leadership, line management and coaching, leading the testing community, improving processes and tooling, and helping delivery teams build quality into everything we deliver.

Ideal candidate:
An experienced test professional who wants to remain technically hands-on while shaping the future direction of testing and quality engineering across the department. With experience to line manage the test team growing the team with growth talks and professional development plans.
Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the department's testing strategy, standards and best practices.
- Drive improvements in test automation, quality processes and tooling.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to testers.
- Lead and develop the testing community across multiple delivery teams.
- Line manage testers, supporting performance, growth and career development.
- Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
- Support test planning, risk management and release readiness activities.
- Evaluate and introduce modern testing approaches and technologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential Skills
- Significant experience in software testing and quality engineering.
- Strong background in test automation and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience defining test strategies and improving testing practices.
- Knowledge of different delivery methodologies and CI/CD environments.
- Proven leadership, coaching and mentoring experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to balance strategic leadership, people management with hands-on delivery.
Desirable Experience
- Leading transformation from manual to automated testing.
- Building testing communities or centres of excellence.
- Experience with AI-assisted testing and quality engineering tools.
- Understanding how testing evolves for software developed using AI or agentic coding approaches.
- Experience on Risk-based testing where effort is focused on mitigating high-risk failure scenarios.
