Location: Milton Keynes, UK

Work mode: Hybrid - 3 days weekly from Milton Keynes office

We at Coforge are looking for Test Lead in Milton Keynes, UK.

Role Purpose

Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and governance of testing activities for Cheques, BACS, and Faster Payments workstreams. Ensure delivery aligns with programme milestones, Pay.UK requirements, regulatory standards, and internal governance frameworks.

Act as the single point of accountability for test delivery across technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, shared services, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Test Leadership

  • Develop and maintain the Workstream Test Strategy and Test Plan.
  • Define testing approach for:
    • System Testing
    • System Integration Testing (SIT)
    • End-to-End Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT)
    • Dress Rehearsals
    • Production Verification Testing
  • Ensure adherence to programme quality and governance standards.

Scheme Testing

  • Lead testing for:
    • BACS Direct Credits
    • BACS Direct Debits
    • Faster Payments
    • Cheque Processing & Image Clearing
  • Ensure compliance with Pay.UK scheme requirements.
  • Coordinate certification and external testing activities.
  • Validate payment processing, settlement, and exception handling.

Test Coordination

  • Coordinate testing across delivery teams, vendors, operations, and shared services.
  • Manage dependencies across applications, middleware, channels, infrastructure, and operational teams.

Governance & Reporting

  • Monitor test execution, defect trends, coverage, and exit criteria.
  • Provide status reports and quality metrics.
  • Escalate risks and quality concerns.

Risk & Compliance

  • Manage testing risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Maintain RAID log.
  • Secure SOx approvals and governance sign-offs.
  • Support Go/No-Go decisions and production readiness assessments.

  • Test Management within Financial Services.
  • UK Payments Scheme Testing.
  • BACS, Faster Payments, and Cheque Processing.
  • Large-scale SIT and End-to-End Testing.
  • Transformation Programme Delivery.
  • Defect Management and Quality Assurance.

Technical Knowledge

  • BACS Direct Credits & Direct Debits
  • Faster Payments Service (FPS)
  • Image Clearing System (ICS)

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification

Desirable

  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager
  • Prince2 Practitioner
  • Agile Practitioner / Scrum Master
  • SAFe Certification
