Test Manager

Permanent
Leeds | Hybrid (2 days office-based)
£65,000 + 25% bonus + £6,000 car allowance + 10% employer pension + BUPA + 25 days holiday + onsite parking

This role is working with a global leader in consumer finance. We're now looking for a Test Manager to join the Leeds-based technology team and play a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of their systems as they continue to grow and modernise their platforms.

The Opportunity

We're hiring a Test Manager to create, lead and deliver an efficient testing service across multiple operational systems, driving quality end-to-end and partnering closely with IT and business stakeholders to shape and implement effective test strategy.

This role is ideal for someone who can combine hands-on testing leadership with building capability (including automation and regression) in a complex environment involving multiple delivery parties/suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day allocation of testing activities within a central test function
  • Build and lead a capability for integration testing across multiple supplier developments
  • Establish an automated regression capability to protect core functionality
  • Create test strategies and oversee planning/execution to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing and inspire high performance in the test team
  • Support business-led UAT to ensure changes are fit for live deployment
  • Provide expert consultation on testing approach, process, tools and quality
  • Develop testing metrics/measures with suppliers and internal teams
  • Communicate status of testing activity to IT teams and senior stakeholders
  • Coordinate with in-country teams; overseas travel may be required

Required Experience / Skills

  • Strong knowledge of testing principles, practices, techniques and tooling
  • Proven experience leading testing across multiple changes in complex environments (ideally international)
  • Experience managing external supplier delivery/testing activity
  • Exposure across the full testing lifecycle (Unit, System, Integration, UAT)
  • Agile / incremental delivery experience (e.g., Scrum / Kanban)
  • Experience implementing and using test automation tools
  • Comfortable with tools such as JIRA / Confluence and test management solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
