Test Manager
£450–£480 per day | Outside IR35 | Aberdeen | 6 Month Initial Contract
Experis are currently supporting a major organisation within the UK’s critical infrastructure and technology sector, and we are looking for an experienced Test Manager to join an established engineering team in Aberdeen.
This is a long-term contract opportunity, with an initial 6-month engagement and strong potential for continued work beyond the initial term.
The role will focus on leading and managing test and assurance activities across complex, integrated systems, working across multiple technical disciplines including digital and embedded technologies.
The Role
As Test Manager, you will provide technical leadership across the test programme, taking ownership of test strategy, planning, assurance and execution.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing Test Strategies and Test Plans
- Creating and maintaining test scripts, procedures and test reports
- Managing system-level Verification & Validation (V&V) activities
- Ensuring requirements are verifiable, complete and traceable
- Defining appropriate test and acceptance criteria
- Managing test environments, tools and resources
- Investigating test failures and providing recommendations
- Supporting system acceptance and engineering reviews
- Managing and reviewing supplier test documentation
- Providing technical leadership to a team of Test Engineers
- Coordinating multiple concurrent test work packages
- Ensuring test activities meet required quality, timescale and assurance standards

What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in engineers with a background in aerospace, defence, aviation or another safety-critical / highly regulated environment.
You should have:
- Significant experience in Test Management, Test Assurance or Systems V&V
- Strong experience working with complex, integrated systems
- Experience producing formal test documentation, including test plans, scripts and reports
- A good understanding of systems engineering and software lifecycles
- Experience working within real-time, safety-critical or business-critical systems
- Experience leading or coordinating test engineers and wider technical teams
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
- An engineering qualification at HNC level or above, or equivalent relevant experience
- SC Clearance, or the ability to obtain SC clearance

Location & Contract
Location: Aberdeen Airport / Hybrid
Rate: £450–£480 per day, depending on experience (Outside IR35).
Term: 6-month initial contract, with strong potential for extension
The role is hybrid, but candidates must be able to attend the Aberdeen site when required.
