Job Title: Data - Test Manager – Teal

Duration: 6 months initially with option to extend

Location: Telford, 2 days a week onsite

Pay Rate: £581 per day all inc. (PAYE through Umbrella)

Clearance Required: SC Clearance

Job Description:

The Data Product Delivery Area (PDA) focuses on managing projects which are commissioned from Capgemini by Data Processing Services (DPS) under the Big Data & Analytics and Legacy Data Warehouse Contracts.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to join our team to support the PDA by defining and assuring the quality assurance activities across all projects.

This role extends across QA of the full software development lifecycle, including Requirements, Design, Build, Test, and Implementation.

The Portfolio QA Lead will provide test governance and assurance across one or more Portfolios, mainly operating at a Portfolio level with responsibilities for monitoring the quality and test progress across all projects in the Portfolio(s).

It will involve working with the Capgemini Engagement Managers, the Technical Leads, the delivery teams, and with DPS to assure adherence against the overall Test Strategy, whilst also providing guidance on best practice.

This role is based on working in a hybrid home/office model with travel to Telford and occasional travel to other offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Governance, Assurance & Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure Data PDA Test process & best practice is being adhered to and implemented on projects.
  • Review Test Strategies.
  • Review of Test Completion Reports.
  • Ensure lessons learned & process improvements are shared and implemented across all Portfolios/Projects.
  • Work closely with DPS Test Manager - maintain regular comms, provide updates, escalations, feedback.
  • Monitor quality trends in process/product quality – identify, implement & communicate process improvements.
  • Work with other QA Leads/Test Managers from other PDAs to ensure consistency.
  • Lead in the recruitment of new Project QA Lead/ QA Engineer – Define resource needs, review CVs, lead interviews.
  • Help develop, train and educate Data QA community (Project QA Leads, QA Engineers, etc.).

Project Delivery Responsibilities

  • Produce the Test Strategy on large, complex, high-risk projects/deliveries.
  • Support and guidance for Project QA Leads & QA Engineers.
  • SOW / WP Reviews – including test impacts, scope, approach and RAID items.
  • Work with clients and key project stakeholders to establish scope and approach for QA.
  • Lead & direct other DPS teams where we are lead POD.
  • Provide guidance to our internal teams on engaging with other DPS teams.
  • Have a high-level view of the Capacity Plan and Forecasting of Project QA Leads & QA Engineers.
  • Responsible for QA Engineer assignments based on career and delivery requirements and demand – working with DLs /EMs.
  • Work with Portfolio Lead and SWA Lead.
  • Risk Mitigation and Management.
