A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead end-to-end testing activities across complex infrastructure, transition, and transformation programmes supporting a customer in the Defence, Aerospace and Security sector.
3-Month Rolling Contract
Remote role (UK based)
Active SC Clearance Required
You'll be responsible for defining test strategy, managing test execution and defect management processes, and providing governance and assurance throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project teams, stakeholders, and customers, you'll ensure testing is delivered to time, quality, and budget while supporting successful service transitions and programme outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Test Management across infrastructure and managed services projects.
- Define and manage Test Strategies, Test Plans, execution schedules, governance, and reporting.
- Drive defect, risk, issue, and dependency management throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Facilitate test planning and stakeholder workshops to agree scope, approach, and responsibilities.
- Manage test resources and coordinate testing activities across multiple workstreams.
- Provide regular status reporting, risk assessments, and go/no-go recommendations.
- Ensure service readiness criteria and testing quality gates are achieved.
- Support pre-sales activities, including solution reviews, estimates, and testing approaches.
- Manage stakeholder communications and escalations across technical and business teams.
- Capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 8+ years' experience in Test Management and Defect Management.
- Strong background delivering testing within infrastructure, outsourcing, managed services, or transformation environments.
- ISTQB Foundation certification.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 and/or TMMi.
- Understanding of ITIL Service Validation & Testing principles.
- Experience with formal Test Management tools and methodologies.
- Good understanding of datacentre, end-user computing, and service desk environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience managing risks, governance, reporting, and complex testing programmes.
- Ability to work independently and within distributed project teams.
- Active SC Clearance

Desirable
- ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification.
- ITIL Intermediate, PRINCE2 or PMI certification.
- Experience of performance, security, and non-functional testing.
- Previous experience as a Test Analyst, Project Manager, or Programme Test Lead.
- Experience working within globally distributed delivery teams.
