Test Supervisor – Electronics Manufacturing
Location: Stevenage
Salary: Competitive DOE
Job Type: Permanent
We are currently supporting an established engineering and electronics manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Test Supervisor to join their production team.
This is a hands-on supervisory position, responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Test function while supporting a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.
The role would suit someone with a strong background in electronics test and fault-finding who is now looking to take on greater responsibility for people, workload and production performance.
The Role
As Test Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the Test Department operates efficiently, meeting production requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day workload of the Test Department.
- Allocate work across Test Engineers and Technicians in line with production requirements.
- Support the team with complex test and fault-finding issues.
- Carry out first-line checks and minor fault-finding on test equipment and test rigs.
- Assist with fault-finding across digital, analogue and RF electronic assemblies.
- Escalate more complex equipment and technical issues to the relevant engineering teams.
- Ensure appropriate test procedures are available for new products and updated when required.
- Support customer-related technical investigations and testing queries.
- Ensure test records and production data are completed accurately.
- Monitor test equipment calibration and ensure issues are identified and addressed.
- Support the RMA process and ensure returned products are processed efficiently.
- Monitor team workload, capacity, attendance and performance.
- Support the training, development and onboarding of new and existing team members.
- Promote good communication, teamwork and safe working practices.
- Work in line with relevant quality and manufacturing standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical electronics test experience with proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience within electronics test and debug.
- Experience working across different electronic technologies.
- Experience diagnosing faults within digital, analogue and/or RF assemblies.
- Previous experience supervising, leading or coordinating an engineering/test team.
- A strong understanding of production environments and meeting delivery targets.
- Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing production requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, production and other internal teams.
- A proactive approach to supporting and developing team members.
- Experience working within a structured quality environment would be beneficial.
