Test Technician - Leighton Buzzard - £30,000 to £40,000
Do you enjoy solving problems and finding out how things work? We’re looking for a Production Engineer / Test Technician to join the team and play a hands-on role in building, testing, fault-finding and repairing electronic equipment.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working with electronics and isn't satisfied until they've found the reason something isn't working. You'll be working with printed circuit boards, complete assemblies and specialist equipment, carrying out testing to defined specifications and helping to continually improve the way we test and manufacture our products.
Production Engineer / Test Technician - Role details:
- Testing printed circuit boards to detailed test specifications.
- Wiring, assembling and testing complete equipment and assemblies.
- Recording test results in accordance with our ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures.
- Helping to develop and improve testing procedures and documentation.
- Fault-finding and repairing our own equipment as well as third-party equipment and circuit boards.
- Servicing and maintaining in-house and third-party equipment.
- Working safely and following our company health and safety procedures.

Production Engineer / Test Technician - Candidate Requirements:
- Good knowledge of both analogue and digital electronics.
- The ability to fault-find electronic circuits down to component level, including high-speed digital circuitry.
- Familiarity with A/D and D/A converters.
- Confidence using common electronic laboratory test equipment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A hands-on approach to diagnosing problems and repairing equipment.

The following would be an advantage, although they're not essential:
- Knowledge or understanding of high-voltage circuitry.
- Good soldering skills, particularly surface-mount rework.
- Experience or interest in optics and photography.
