Role: Test Technician

Location: Aberdeen, Onsite
Type: Initially offered on a temporary basis, with a clear intention to transition to permanent employment for the right candidate.
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (D.O.E)

Test Technician is required for a specialist technology organisation within the oil & gas industry, focused on high-speed wireless communication, data analytics, and advanced signal-processing technology.

This is a hands-on role ideal for a technician with strong electronics, testing, troubleshooting, and data analysis experience, working across both onshore and offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and monitor testing processes across electronic systems and equipment
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate test equipment and systems
  • Analyse and interpret test data and identify faults or anomalies
  • Troubleshoot electronic issues and carry out necessary repairs
  • Document bugs and issues clearly so they can be reproduced and investigated by engineers
  • Prepare and document accurate test results and reports

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Test Technician or in a similar technical role
  • Strong hands-on experience with testing and measurement equipment
  • Strong understanding of test procedures and data interpretation
  • Electronics troubleshooting and repair experience
  • HNC in Electronics or equivalent technical qualification
  • Degree in a relevant technical field is advantageous
