Approved Electrician – Testing

Rate: £30.00 per hour (first 38 hours) / £36.00 per hour thereafter
Hours: 50 hours per week
Start Date: 19th October 2026 (or as soon as possible)
Duration: Ongoing contract
Sphere Solutions are currently recruiting for an Approved Electrician with a strong electrical testing background to work on Thames Water sites.
The successful candidate will undertake fixed electrical testing across site facilities, ensuring electrical installations are safe, compliant and maintained to the required standards.
This is an ongoing opportunity offering consistent hours, competitive hourly rates and accommodation support for candidates working away from home.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fixed electrical testing across Thames Water sites.
- Inspect and test electrical installations and associated equipment.
- Identify and report faults, defects and potential safety issues.
- Complete electrical test documentation and certification accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical regulations and site safety procedures.
- Work safely and professionally within operational water industry environments.
Requirements
- Approved Electrician status.
- Strong background in electrical inspection and testing.
- Relevant Electrical Qualifications And Testing Certifications.
- Good understanding of electrical regulations and safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a site-based team.
- COMPEX certification is advantageous but not essential.

Pay & Benefits
- £30.00 per hour for the first 38 hours worked per week.
- £36.00 per hour for hours worked beyond 38 per week.
- 50 hours available per week.
- Accommodation (digs) paid.
- £40 nightly food allowance.
- Ongoing contract with an immediate start available from 19th October 2026.
