Design Consulting is seeking an experienced Resident Testing Engineer to join a prestigious automotive programme in Crewe, UK. We are looking for a professional with proven experience working within Bentley development environments or programmes. This experience is considered a key requirement for the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and analyse tests on vehicles and test benches at system, function and component level.
  • Reproduce, investigate and troubleshoot vehicle electronic issues.
  • Produce detailed test reports and technical documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis and propose technical countermeasures.
  • Provide technical support for ECU flashing, parameterisation and diagnostic activities.
  • Coordinate technical activities with cross-functional teams.
  • Track and manage software releases.
  • Ensure timely reporting of project and testing status.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working on Bentley projects, vehicles, systems or within Bentley engineering organisations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Comfort Electronics, Interior Lighting Electronics, BCM, Door ECUs and Climate Control ECUs.
  • Experience with Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, OBD Diagnostic Tools and Data Loggers.
  • Good understanding of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Fluent English.

  • Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Resident position based in Crewe, United Kingdom.
  • Availability to travel to engineering sites and partner locations when required.
