Your new role:

A leading manufacturer and innovator within the fire protection sector is seeking a hands-on Testing Engineer to join their Research & Development team in Harlow. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer or technician with testing, manufacturing, laboratory, or engineering experience who enjoys a practical role combining product testing, technical problem-solving, and project support.

Working within a specialist R&D environment, you will play a key role in preparing and conducting fire tests, supporting product development activities, and ensuring testing programmes run effectively.

The position offers a varied workload, combining technical testing, workshop activities, documentation, logistics, and occasional travel to customer and testing sites across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Prepare test specimens and installations for fire testing activities.
  • Carry out practical assembly and installation work, including sheet metal and ductwork preparation.
  • Support internal and external fire testing & manufacturing development programmes.
  • Assist with test execution, data collection, and technical reporting.
  • Interpret and work to relevant technical standards and procedures.
  • Contribute ideas and practical insights to support ongoing product development projects.

Skills & Experience required:
