Job Description
Job Title: Gas Testing Engineer (Testing Technician)
Location: Field based, North London & East Anglia Regions
Salary: From £30,000, including a company van
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (flexibility with travel requirements)
Are you working in a testing, inspection, laboratory, engineering, environmental, or technical role and looking for something different? Do you enjoy hands-on work, visiting customer sites, solving problems, and producing technical reports?
We're looking for a Gas Testing Engineer to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop specialist skills in gas testing, sampling, analysis, and reporting.
No previous gas testing experience is required. Full training will be provided.
This role is ideal for candidates based in North London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, or the wider East Anglia region, with regular travel across customer sites throughout the South East and East Anglia.

About the Role
This is a hands-on technical role combining site work, sampling, testing, data analysis, and customer interaction. You'll be responsible for carrying out onsite gas testing activities, collecting samples for laboratory analysis, reviewing results, and producing reports that help customers maintain compliance and operational performance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out onsite gas testing and analysis activities at customer locations.
- Collecting gas and environmental samples to send for laboratory analysis.
- Preparing, labelling, and dispatching samples to laboratories, ensuring all quality procedures are followed.
- Reviewing analytical results and producing accurate reports for customers.
- Working with testing and monitoring equipment to carry out site activities.
- Building strong relationships with customers and providing a professional service.
- Travelling throughout North London, the South East, and East Anglia, with occasional travel elsewhere in the UK.
Qualifications
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone from a testing, inspection, laboratory, engineering, or technical background who wants to develop a career in gas testing and analysis.
You may be working as a Laboratory Technician, Inspection Technician, Environmental Technician, Field Technician, Engineering Technician, Quality Technician, or similar.

Qualifications & Experience
- Educated to A-Levels, BTEC, NVQ, apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent experience.
- Ideally have experience in a testing, inspection, laboratory, environmental, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- No degree required. Full training provided.
