The Environment Centre is a community hub inspiring positive action for a greener and healthier future that has been championing environmental action in Swansea for 30 years. They encourage and facilitate activity that helps protect our environment and tackle the challenges of plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, and climate change.

Energy Awareness Officer (Trainee)

Salary: £25,500 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week (occasional evening and weekend work required)

Contract: Fixed-term until 31 March 2027

Location: The Environment Centre, with hybrid working available

The Environment Centre are seeking a friendly, proactive and motivated individual to join their Switched On Energy Awareness Hub as an Energy Awareness Officer (Trainee).

About The Role

This is a chance to gain valuable work experience and training while making a positive difference in your community.

The service supports Swansea residents by providing impartial energy efficiency advice, signposting practical support, and connecting people to specialist services. Topics include utility bills, switching suppliers, home heating, energy efficiency, renewable energy, low-carbon opportunities, grants and funded support.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills through training and mentoring, beginning with City & Guilds Energy Awareness Level 3. You'll work alongside our experienced Energy Awareness team, supporting residents both at community events across Swansea and from our Energy Awareness Hub at The Environment Centre.

The project is delivered in partnership with the Energy Redress Scheme, managed by the Energy Saving Trust, which supports vulnerable energy consumers and helps reduce carbon emissions.
