Global Materials Strategy & Planning Manager
The Global Materials Strategy & Planning Manager translates long-term finished goods and production plans into a single, global material requirements strategy. Acting as the critical link between Global Planning and Procurement, the role creates visibility of future demand, aligns supplier capacity with business needs and unlocks purchasing scale through consolidated demand, strategic volume allocation and long-term supplier agreements.
You will establish a centralised, long-term material planning process, replacing fragmented site-level forecasting with a single source of truth for Procurement and supplier engagement at spend-pool level.
As a key partner to the Director, Global Planning (RCCP & S&OP), you will ensure that material and finished goods capacity, demand and risk insights are embedded in the global S&OP/IBP cycle.
In this role you will…
- Build and lead global input material planning, enabling fact-based decisions and long-term supply assurance through clear capacity-to-demand visibility and proactive gap identification using Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP).
- Work closely with Procurement, combining supplier capacity intelligence with Haleon demand insights to anticipate market trends, risks and disruption.
- Develop S&OP/IBP reporting and scenario models, bringing constraints, mitigation options and decision-ready trade-offs into the monthly global S&OP/IBP process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
