BAO Battersea is looking for an Assistant General Manager

BAO Battersea is looking for an Assistant General Manager to help lead the team with care, consistency, and attention to detail.

At BAO, we care about doing things properly - from the service we give to the way we support our teams. As Assistant General Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the front of house team day-to-day, helping to create a warm, joyful environment for both guests and staff.

You’ll work closely with the General Manager to keep operations running smoothly, while building a team culture where people feel supported, confident, and proud of the experience they deliver.

This is a leadership role for someone who’s passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and leads with kindness and consistency.

The Restaurant

BAO Noodle Shop in the iconic Battersea Power Station. Perch around the expansive wrap around counter, where chefs serve bowlfuls of beef noodle soup, xiao chi and BAO.BAO's goal is to create restaurants that offer a different experience to each other, inspired by our founder's upbringing and travels around Asia. Each restaurant within the group has a unique menu and a different story.

The Position

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the GM in the daily running of the restaurant - leading service and managing the pace, energy, and flow of the floor
  • Creating memorable guest experiences through warm, thoughtful service
  • Coaching and developing the FOH team - leading training, check-ins, and ongoing support
  • Helping with rota planning & stock management
  • Upholding high standards across guest care, cleanliness, safety, and BAO brand presentation
  • Acting as a calm, capable leader on shift - someone the team can rely on and learn from

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as an Assistant General Manager or Assistant Manager in a high-quality, fast-paced restaurant
  • A natural team leader - clear communicator, approachable, and focused on people’s growth
  • A strong sense of what great guest experience looks like - and how to deliver it consistently
  • Confidence in shift management, floor coordination, and basic back-office tasks
  • A hands-on, positive attitude and a genuine love for hospitality
