Performing Arts: help deliver ambitious productions, concerts, and live events in the G.W. Annenberg Performing Arts Centre and Christopher Lee Theatre.

Role Overview

The Theatre and AV Technician will play an important role in supporting the delivery of productions, performances, and events across the College. Working as part of the Theatre Technical team, you will help provide lighting, sound, video, and stage support for a varied programme that includes drama, music, and dance productions, concerts, lectures, live-streamed events, and major College occasions.

The role offers the opportunity to work across Wellington's exceptional performing arts venues, including the award-winning G.W. Annenberg Performing Arts Centre, with its 916-seat auditorium, and the Christopher Lee Theatre. Recent productions have included large-scale musicals, original pupil-written works, and immersive theatre, providing a varied and engaging technical programme throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support rehearsals, performances, conferences, and College events
  • Work with a wide range of lighting, sound, video, and stage technologies
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of a busy programme of activity
  • Work alongside pupils who share an enthusiasm for theatre and production
  • Support and encourage students in developing their technical theatre skills
  • Broaden technical expertise across lighting, sound, video production, live streaming, and event technology

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proactive and organized individual with experience of technical theatre, live events, or a similar setting
  • Strong team player, able to work calmly under pressure
  • Committed to delivering a professional service to performers, colleagues, visitors, and audiences
