Therapeutic Radiographer

The closing date is 31 August 2026

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Therapeutic Radiographer to join our progressive and patient-centred Beacon Radiotherapy department. Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will play an essential role in delivering safe, accurate and evidence-based radiotherapy treatment to patients across Somerset and North Devon.

This is a rotational post, giving you the opportunity to develop experience across all radiotherapy treatment areas, including pre-treatment, treatment delivery, patient review, and technical processes that support high-quality cancer care.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Radiographer, You Will:

  • Deliver radiotherapy treatments safely and in line with prescribed protocols, regulatory standards, and departmental procedures.
  • Provide clear information, reassurance, and emotional support to patients and their carers throughout the radiotherapy pathway.
  • Identify, assess, and manage treatment-related side effects, referring to other professionals where appropriate.
  • Support seamless communication and smooth patient pathways between different teams and care settings.
  • Participate in on-treatment reviews, patient education, and assessment clinics.
  • Use radiotherapy software systems effectively to document care and support safe treatment delivery.
  • Contribute to patient-focused service improvements and maintain high standards through audit and evidence-based practice.
  • Assist in the training, supervision, and support of students and assistant practitioners.

This is an excellent opportunity to build your radiotherapy career in a supportive department committed to high-quality, patient-centred care and continuous innovation. You'll work with advanced technology, gain exposure to a wide range of clinical techniques, and contribute to a service that is actively engaged in research, audit, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
