Role Description
The Therapeutic Services Manager is a part-time hybrid role based in London, with a mix of on-site work in Croydon and some work from home. This role oversees the design, delivery, and evaluation of trauma-informed therapeutic and creative programs for unaccompanied young people seeking asylum. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing caseloads, coordinating individual and group therapeutic sessions, and ensuring safeguarding and risk management procedures are consistently followed. The manager collaborates with arts and education practitioners to integrate therapeutic principles into activities, provides reflective supervision to staff and volunteers, and maintains high-quality documentation and reporting. The role also involves liaising with external agencies and partners, contributing to funding applications and impact reporting, and supporting continuous improvement of services based on participant feedback and outcomes.

- Formal training and experience in a relevant therapeutic discipline (e.g., psychotherapy, counseling, art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy, clinical or educational psychology).
- Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, and working with children, adolescents, or young adults who have experienced displacement or adversity.
- Strong program management skills, including service design, coordination of group and one-to-one interventions, monitoring outcomes, and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, provide reflective supervision, and support staff and volunteers in delivering therapeutic and creative activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds and communicate clearly with families, partners, and funders.
- Experience working in charity, community, or educational settings, ideally with refugees, asylum seekers, or other marginalized communities.
- Knowledge of relevant ethical frameworks, data protection requirements, and legislation relating to safeguarding and mental health.
- Comfort with hybrid working, including managing workload across in-person sessions and remote planning, administration, and coordination.
- Relevant professional registration or accreditation (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
