About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Reception Team at Queen’s Hospital, Burton-on-Trent. This is a permanent position working Part-time at 26.5 hours per week, Monday through to Friday. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small but dedicated reception team. The successful candidate will have administrative, customer services, or reception experience, excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer/patient care, and a flexible approach to working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a friendly, welcoming, and professional first point of contact, on the telephone and in person, to patients and a range of healthcare professionals.
  • Reception duties will be complex and varied.
  • Welcoming and booking patients into clinics.
  • Booking appointments.
  • Dealing with enquiries.
  • Input data onto Trust computer systems.
  • Other clerical duties required to support the efficient and effective running of the Therapies department.
  • Full training will be provided.

Requirements

  • Good level of education and experience in Administration and Clerical duties with good keyboard skills.
  • Ability to work in a calm, logical, and methodical way but be able to multitask while dealing with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills including face-to-face contact with the general public.
  • Experience of working in a busy reception environment.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism while being aware of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Ability to remain calm and work well under pressure, while having the ability to carry out a wide variety of tasks.
