An Exciting Opportunity at RNOH
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Therapy Department at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH).
About the Role
You will be supporting Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who provide a wide range of rehabilitation programmes for people with complex chronic musculoskeletal pain problems, hypermobility and rheumatological conditions.
Responsibilities
- Support Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in providing rehabilitation programmes.
- Undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients and support the day-to-day running of the department.
- Assist with teaching and supervising exercises (individually, in classes, and in water) and functional activities individually and in groups.
- Provide feedback to the multidisciplinary team on patients’ progress.
- Provide administration, data entry, and practical support to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Maintain stock levels and ensure equipment is cleaned according to RNOH infection control guidelines.
- Supply patients requiring walking aids/equipment and instruct patients on their safe use.
- Support students on clinical placements.
- Carry out and document group and individual activity sessions with patients.
- Maintain clinical equipment and perform administrative and clerical tasks.
- Prepare and clean treatment areas.
- Regularly work in and around the hydrotherapy pool.
- Use craft activities, gardening, and/or cooking to reinforce rehabilitation principles.
- Deliver relaxation groups, assist therapists in running sport and swimming sessions, and set up and use rehabilitation equipment/techniques.

- Good written and spoken English.
- Experience of working with people with disabilities.
- Initiative and the ability to demonstrate basic administration and clerical skills.
