Critical Liquid Cooling
Critical Liquid Cooling is a growing engineering and business developing innovative liquid cooling solutions. We are looking for a Thermal Mechanical Engineer to join us at an early stage of our growth and develop with the business.
About the Role
This is a broad role, with mechanical design and thermal/fluid engineering at its core, alongside exposure to customers, suppliers, manufacturing, testing, and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical and thermal design of liquid cooling systems
- 3D CAD, engineering drawings, and design development, including pipework and system layouts
- Applying mechanical, thermal, and fluid engineering principles to practical problems
- Working with suppliers and manufacturers to develop and produce components and assemblies
- Supporting customers with technical requirements and system integration
- Helping develop solutions from concept through to installation and operation
- Investigating technical issues and developing practical solutions
- Supporting service visits, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities where required
- Contributing to engineering processes and ways of working as the business grows
As a small and growing business, the role will also extend beyond engineering. You may be involved in exhibitions, customer meetings, marketing, and other business projects.
If you have an interest in the commercial side of engineering, there will also be opportunities to get involved in sales and business development, including understanding customer requirements, supporting proposals, and developing new opportunities. This is not a requirement, but could suit someone who wants that experience.

We are looking for someone with:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- A good understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, particularly heat transfer and fluid mechanics
- Practical CAD experience and an interest in mechanical design and pipework systems
- An analytical approach to solving engineering problems
- An interest in product development, testing, and manufacturing
- Good communication skills and confidence working with customers and suppliers
- An interest in the wider business and willingness to contribute beyond a traditional engineering role
- Willingness to attend customer sites for service, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities
Experience with liquid cooling, thermal management, cold plates, manifolds, heat exchangers, pipework, or related technologies would be valuable but is not essential.
Other Opportunities
We are also interested in hearing from people with relevant liquid cooling or thermal engineering experience, or individuals who believe they could contribute to the business in another capacity. If you have experience in liquid cooling, thermal management, data centre cooling, cold plates, manifolds, or related technologies, we'd be interested in hearing from you even if this particular role isn't the right fit.
