Third in Charge (Room-Based)
Location: Beckenham, Kings Hall
- Salary: up to £34,000
- Bonus potential: up to £1,600

About the Role
As Third in Charge, you’ll lead high-quality practice in your room while partnering with leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day nursery operations alongside management.
- Lead quality care and education in your assigned room.
- Act in the absence of senior leaders during operational gaps.
- Build strong family partnerships and maintain open communication.
- Mentor teammates to enhance their practice.
- Uphold safeguarding, health, safety, and compliance standards.
This is a clear pathway into leadership, giving exposure to both room-based and nursery-wide roles.
What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates are passionate early years professionals eager to take on leadership.
**Essential:
- Qualification:
- Level 2 or 3 Early Years Certificate (or above)
- Experience:
- Strong working knowledge of EYFS, Birth to 5 Matters, and child development.
- Experience as a senior practitioner or room leader.
- Professional Record:
- Proven delivery of high-quality care and education.
- Practice Expertise:
- Strong Key Person experience.
- Implementation of safeguarding, health & safety, first aid, and childcare policies.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- What’s Key:
- Ambition, initiative, and passion for supporting children and your team.
