Third Party Management Specialist – Contract

A growing UK financial services business is strengthening its approach to third-party risk, outsourcing and operational resilience. This hands-on contract role will play a key part in improving supplier governance, regulatory compliance and the quality of third-party data ahead of a key 2027 deadline.

Role Overview

  • Location: Milton Keynes / Hybrid – once per month onsite
  • Package: Outside IR35 | 3-month rolling contract, with delivery aligned to March 2027
  • Industry: Banking/Financial Services

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Review and maintain the third-party inventory, ensuring supplier information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Assess supplier tiering, criticality and materiality, including identifying material outsourcing and ICT arrangements.
  • Review contracts against relevant FCA requirements, identifying gaps and prioritising remediation activity.
  • Work alongside Legal, Risk, Security and Business Owners to drive contractual and governance improvements.
  • Configure workflows and populate records within the third-party management platform, ensuring data is complete and consistent.
  • Develop practical exit and substitutability assessments for critical suppliers, considering dependencies and concentration risks.
  • Support Business Owners through onboarding, renewals, due diligence and ongoing third-party lifecycle activity.
  • Help ensure third-party assessments, approvals and supporting documentation are completed to the required standard.
  • Keep delivery focused on achieving the required outcomes ahead of the March 2027 regulatory deadline.
  • Produce clear documentation, process information and a thorough handover for the permanent team.

Main Skills Needed

  • Proven third-party risk or outsourcing experience within UK financial services, including banking, payments, e-money or building societies.
  • Strong hands-on experience completing supplier assessments, risk reviews, contract analysis and maintaining third-party registers.
  • Practical knowledge of FCA SS2/21 and SYSC 8 and how these requirements apply to third-party arrangements.
  • Experience with supplier tiering, materiality assessments and contract remediation.
  • Hands-on experience using a third-party management platform; Gatekeeper experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of third-party lifecycle management, outsourcing risk, operational resilience and supplier governance.
  • Confident working directly with Legal, Risk, Security and senior Business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of delivery and getting into the detail rather than operating purely at programme level.
