Role: Threat Intelligence Analyst
Location: London, hybrid (2-3 days in office per week)
Tech Against Terrorism is hiring a Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic and mission-driven team in London. If you have a background in OSINT, good understanding of online harms, TVEC and TUI, and are looking to work in a small organisation where you are empowered to drive projects and make a difference, we want to hear from you.

Background
Tech Against Terrorism aims to save lives and prevent harm by disrupting terrorist activity online and upholding human rights. We use open-source intelligence investigation, sophisticated technical tooling, and an established capacity-building apparatus for tech platforms to tackle terrorist activity online and counter the exploitation of digital spaces by terrorist and violent extremist (TVE) actors.
We work closely with the United Nations, tech platforms, democratic governments, and civil society. We are seeking to scale our efforts to monitor and disrupt TVE exploitation of online spaces by expanding our established team of OSINT Analysts in hiring another analyst in the UK.
We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have a professional background in:
- Developing and implementing OSINT tooling and technical solutions to problems relating to online harms
- Product management and development
- Data analysis – from collection to visualisation in order to extract actionable insights
The Role
As a Threat Intelligence Analyst at Tech Against Terrorism, you will play an integral part in our proactive efforts to save lives by disrupting TVE activity online. Our investigations are leveraged by the global tech industry, national governments, and supranational organisations to maximise their understanding of how TVE actors use the internet and how to counter it.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor, investigate and analyse emerging TVE activity online through open-source intelligence work, following our OpSec and incident response procedures and using your expertise in best-practice OSINT approaches and tooling
- Respond in real time to ongoing and emerging terrorist incidents with an online component and alert them to tech platforms and relevant national authorities
- Produce short-and-long-form analytical reports based on our findings, including using data from the Terrorist Content Analytics Platform (TCAP)
- Lead on strategic projects and initiatives to disrupt terrorist and violent extremist use of the internet and provide capacity building support to tech platforms and governmental actors
- Collaborate on projects as part of our cross-functional team of OSINT, research and policy analysts, developers and engineers, and communications team
- Contribute to TAT's outreach and fundraising efforts by putting forward proposals for strategic work and advocating for partnerships with our broad network of stakeholders
- Liaise with and provide support to a variety of relevant stakeholders, including tech platforms, regulators, governmental agencies and intergovernmental organisations
- Represent TAT's work at high level conferences, and influential strategic stakeholder engagements online and offline
- Actively contribute to the further development of Tech Against Terrorism's innovative technical approaches to online counter terrorism work and strategic priorities in response to the emerging and changing threat picture, as well as actively developing our OSINT capabilities

Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of experience in open-source intelligence (OSINT) work in the public or private sector
- Thorough knowledge of OSINT tools, investigative techniques, and other related methodologies
- Professional experience in dealing with graphic, violent, or upsetting content
- Excellent intelligence writing skills and proven experience in analysing complex findings
- Demonstrable use of intelligence and analytical techniques such as the Probability Yardstick, BLUF methodology, Risk Matrices, and Analysis of Competing Hypothesis (ACH)
- Demonstrated knowledge around TVE use of technology and the internet, and/or digital exploitation by hostile actors, including other online harms
- Passion for and commitment to Tech Against Terrorism's mission to save lives by disrupting TVE use of the internet and upholding human rights
- Right to work in the UK and ability to work from our office in central London 2-3 times a week
- Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally
- Willingness to work flexibly as part of an international team based in the UK and as part of an on-call rota, including at weekends and public holidays
Desirable:
- Experience in working with incident response protocols
- Project and/or product management experience
- Knowledge of broader OSINT landscape, including platforms and products
- Undergraduate or master's degree in relevant subject (Security, War Studies, Intelligence, etc.)

Please note that this role involves exposure to graphic, violent and/or otherwise distressing content. Tech Against Terrorism has Operational Security and Duty of Care policies in place to mitigate against the effects of this work and provides professional, trauma specific support and training to its staff. Previous experience in working with disturbing material and its impact is essential for this role.
