Threat & Vulnerability Management Engineer

Location: London (Office based)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Rate: £450 per day inside IR35
Duration: 6 months initially

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Threat & Vulnerability Management Engineer to help drive and enhance enterprise-wide vulnerability management, security operations, risk governance, and remediation programmes.

You will work closely with infrastructure, application, cyber security, risk, and audit teams to identify, assess, prioritise, and remediate vulnerabilities across complex on-premise and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance Threat & Vulnerability Management strategies, roadmaps, KPIs, and KRIs.
  • Lead vulnerability management activities across infrastructure and applications.
  • Oversee security patching and drive automation of vulnerability scanning and remediation processes.
  • Prioritise vulnerabilities using risk-based methodologies and industry best practice.
  • Utilise ServiceNow Vulnerability Response and Application Vulnerability Response tools.
  • Work with technology teams to analyse vulnerabilities and drive remediation.
  • Support penetration testing remediation activities and audit requirements.
  • Act as the SME for vulnerability management and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging threats and promote a proactive security culture.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience within Threat & Vulnerability Management in large enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management, threat intelligence, incident response, and security operations.
  • Experience working across AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, Veracode, JFrog Xray, Splunk, and Ivanti LANDesk.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux (RHEL/OEL), PowerShell, and Python.
  • Experience implementing automation and process improvements.
  • Strong understanding of NIST and ISO 27001 frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • CISSP and/or CISM certification required.
