CBRE GlobalWorkplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting for a Test & Inspection Electrician

What You’ll Do

As a CBRE Test & Inspection Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical inspection, testing, certification, fault diagnosis, and maintenance activities across a portfolio of client facilities. This role forms part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and plays a key role in ensuring electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and operational in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.

  • Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in accordance with BS 7671.
  • Perform Initial Verification and certification of new electrical installations and alterations.
  • Complete Periodic Inspection and Testing of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Identify electrical defects, non-conformances, and potential hazards, providing clear recommendations for remedial works.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently.
  • Complete all inspection and testing documentation accurately and in compliance with current regulations.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, and company safe systems of work.
  • Review asset and maintenance records to support planned inspection and testing programmes.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance and minor installation work where required.
  • Provide a professional and customer-focused service, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Maintain accurate reports, test results, and electronic records using company systems.
  • Support compliance audits and contribute to maintaining statutory compliance across client sites.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and site management teams to deliver planned and reactive works.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture and lead by example in all aspects of work.

What You’ll Need

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, SVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, or equivalent electrical qualification.
  • Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Desired, City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent qualification).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical inspection, testing, and maintenance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong understanding of BS 7671 requirements and electrical certification.
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment and producing associated reports.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical safety procedures and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications and mobile workforce management systems.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads across multiple sites.

Essential Experience

  • Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).

  • Working within commercial, industrial, retail, or critical environment facilities.
