Join the healthcare investment team of a tier one European private equity platform with a dedicated healthcare vertical. The firm backs sponsor-backed and founder-led businesses across pharma services, MedTech, healthcare providers, and life sciences tools, running the full lifecycle from origination through execution to value creation during the hold period. This is a healthcare specialist team, not a generalist desk with a healthcare label attached.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an Associate to join the London healthcare team, working across live transactions from initial screening through diligence, execution, and into portfolio ownership. You'll build models from a blank page, sit in management meetings, and stay close to the businesses after close rather than handing them to a separate operations group. The healthcare team is small and senior heavy, so associates get real exposure to sourcing and thesis work, not just execution support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and own detailed financial models, including LBO returns analysis, operating forecasts, and sensitivity and downside cases specific to the asset and subsector.
  • Support due diligence workstreams end to end, coordinating commercial, financial, legal, and clinical or regulatory advisers where relevant, and translating findings into the investment case.
  • Prepare investment committee materials, including market mapping, competitive positioning, and the core thesis behind the deal.
  • Support origination and sector mapping across healthcare subsectors, helping build and maintain the team's proprietary pipeline.
  • Work alongside portfolio company management post close on strategic initiatives, M&A, and board-level reporting.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel and senior deal team members on structuring and transaction documentation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant post-graduate experience, ideally from a top-tier investment bank or elite boutique with genuine healthcare sector coverage, ideally with sponsor-backed deal experience.
  • Strong technical grounding, including LBO modelling, DCF, and comparable company and transaction analysis, built on live sell-side or buy-side mandates rather than academic exercises.
  • A real interest in the healthcare sector, whether through prior deal exposure, academic background, or demonstrated market knowledge across pharma, MedTech, healthcare services, or life sciences.
  • The judgement to identify which assumption a case actually rests on, and the confidence to defend that view in an investment committee setting.
  • Degree educated from a leading university, existing right to work in the UK, and additional European languages viewed favourably given the platform's pan-European coverage.

Why Join?

  • Direct exposure to a full-cycle healthcare franchise, from sourcing through to exit, rather than a generalist seat with occasional healthcare deal flow.
  • Genuine principal-side ownership, building the model and shaping the thesis rather than supporting someone else's view.
  • A defined path to Senior Associate and beyond, on a platform with a strong track record of scaling healthcare investments across Europe.
  • Direct access to senior dealmakers and portfolio company leadership, the kind of exposure that builds investment judgement rather than just deal execution skills.
  • Competitive base and bonus, structured around the calibre of the individual rather than fixed to years of tenure.
