About the Platform

This is one of the largest and longest established alternative asset managers in Europe, headquartered in London, with a global platform spanning private equity, credit, infrastructure, and secondaries, and a network of offices across Europe, the US, and Asia. Within that platform, healthcare is not a sleeve of a generalist private equity fund, it is one of the firm's flagship sector verticals, built over multiple fund cycles and multiple economic cycles, with a track record that spans buyouts, growth investments, and structured minority positions in businesses across the healthcare value chain.

The firm's broader positioning is pan European with global reach, meaning the healthcare team is not confined to UK deal flow. It underwrites and executes transactions across Western Europe, the Nordics, DACH, and Southern Europe, with the ability to follow founders and management teams into adjacent geographies as businesses scale, including selective transatlantic expansion where a platform's growth thesis supports it.

About the Healthcare Team

The healthcare team operates as a dedicated, sector-first franchise rather than a group of generalist dealmakers who happen to cover healthcare alongside three or four other industries. It is deliberately kept small and senior, structured so that origination, thesis development, execution, and portfolio value creation all sit with the same core group of people rather than being handed off between separate deal and operations functions at different stages of the lifecycle.

The team's coverage spans four core subsectors:

  • Pharma services, including CDMO, CRO, and outsourced manufacturing and development platforms.
  • MedTech, spanning devices, diagnostics, and connected or software enabled medical technology.
  • Healthcare providers, including specialist clinical networks, care platforms, and physician group consolidation plays.
  • Life sciences tools, covering the instrumentation, reagents, and technology infrastructure that underpin drug discovery and diagnostics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Deals are almost always sponsor backed carve outs and secondary buyouts, or founder led businesses being professionalised for the first time through institutional capital, meaning the team spends as much time on governance, management upgrade, and platform build out as it does on financial engineering. Buy and build is a core part of the playbook: portfolio companies are frequently used as consolidation platforms, with the deal team staying directly involved in bolt on M&A after the initial close rather than ceding that to a separate corporate development function.

Because the team is senior heavy, Associates and Senior Associates are not several layers removed from decision making. Model ownership, IC authorship, and direct diligence coordination with clinical, regulatory, commercial, and legal advisers sit with the deal team from day one of a live process, and continue through board representation and value creation planning once a platform is in the portfolio.

The Role

Join as a Senior Associate and work across live transactions from initial screening through diligence, execution, and portfolio stewardship, with growing responsibility for reviewing junior team members' output as well as your own. This role is based in the firm's London office.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own detailed financial models from a blank page: LBO returns analysis, operating forecasts, sensitivity and downside cases specific to the asset and subsector, reviewing junior associates' work where relevant.
  • Lead due diligence workstreams end to end, coordinating commercial, financial, legal, and clinical or regulatory advisers, and shaping the investment case.
  • Prepare and present investment committee materials: market mapping, competitive positioning, and the core thesis behind each deal.
  • Drive origination and sector mapping across healthcare subsectors, contributing to the team's proprietary pipeline.
  • Take a leading role alongside portfolio company management post close on strategic initiatives, M&A, and board level reporting.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel and senior deal team members on structuring and documentation, with increasing autonomy on deal terms.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant post graduate experience, ideally from a top tier investment bank or elite boutique with genuine healthcare sector coverage, plus meaningful buy side or principal experience on sponsor backed deals.
  • Strong technical grounding in LBO modelling, DCF, and comparable company and transaction analysis, evidenced by leading live sell side or buy side mandates.
  • Real interest in healthcare, shown through a track record of deal exposure across pharma, MedTech, healthcare services, or life sciences.
  • Judgement to identify which assumption a case actually rests on, and the confidence to defend and shape that view in an investment committee setting.
  • Degree educated from a leading university, existing right to work in the UK; willingness to relocate to London required. Additional European languages viewed favourably given the platform's pan European coverage.

Why Join

  • Full cycle exposure to a healthcare franchise with genuine depth and a multi cycle track record, not occasional healthcare deal flow on a generalist desk.
  • Principal side ownership: leading the model and shaping the thesis rather than supporting someone else's view.
  • Clear path to Vice President and beyond, on a platform with a strong record of scaling healthcare investments across Europe.
  • Direct access to senior dealmakers and portfolio company leadership, building investment judgement rather than pure execution mileage.
  • Competitive base and bonus structured around individual calibre rather than fixed tenure.
