Role Description
CF Systems are looking for a Tier 3 Engineer for someone ready to step into technical leadership without leaving hands-on work behind.
We envisage this role to have the following responsibilities:
- Owning complex projects; Leading the more involved and technically demanding work from planning through delivery
- Partnering directly with the directors on strategic projects, giving you visibility into the business side of the MSP, not just the technical side
- Acting as the senior technical voice for your customers, running technical reviews, shaping their future roadmap, and being the person they trust for the big decisions
- Shaping how the technical team grows. You’ll have real input into defining the procedures and systems the team operates by, not just following what’s already there
- Mentoring T1/T2 engineers. Building their skills so they grow into stronger engineers rather than just fixing their problems
- Handling escalations that need real depth of expertise
- Documenting systems and procedures so your expertise scales beyond just you
- Presenting new systems and technologies to the team, you’ll be at the front of what we adopt next, giving you a real say in our tech stack. Where a certification, course, or exam has a clear benefit to the business, we’ll fund it.
- Working across a varied stack and client base, different technologies, different customer environments, to ensure the role stays interesting and your skills stay broad

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
We’re a small, tight-knit team, so everyone pitches in occasionally when someone’s out or on-site but your primary focus will always be as our technical escalation point and project lead, not ticket volume. This is also primarily an office-based role with visits to customer sites as required. Being in the office is important, as it means you’re immediately available to mentor T1/T2 in real time and support the wider team when they need you, that presence is a core part of what will make this role work.
