About The Role

A permanent, full-time TIG Welder position is available in Tewkesbury, paying between £30,000 and £32,000 per annum. Working up to 37 hours weekly for specialist engineering manufacturer MecWash Systems Ltd, you will fabricate stainless steel components for bespoke aqueous washing machines. Reporting to the Production Foreman, this role demands precise TIG welding skills and a keen eye for detail within a close-knit production team. Your duties will involve reading technical drawings, preparing materials, and delivering high-quality welds to specification. Prior experience in stainless steel fabrication is essential for this permanent contract. Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Welder to join a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business based in Tewkesbury. MecWash Systems Ltd specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke aqueous washing machines, supplying customer-specific solutions across a range of industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled stainless steel TIG Welder looking to join a close-knit engineering team where quality workmanship and attention to detail are highly valued. Reporting directly to the Production Foreman and Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for fabricating pipework systems and components from technical drawings using primarily 304 and 316 stainless steel materials.

Key Duties

  • Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings.
  • Fabricating pipe runs for delivering wash medium from storage tanks to process chambers.
  • TIG welding predominantly 304 and 316 stainless steel components.
  • Producing high-quality welds to engineering specifications.
  • Working with supplied TIG welding equipment.
  • Carrying out fabrication and welding activities safely and efficiently.
  • Ensuring all work meets company quality standards.
  • Collaborating with production and engineering teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience TIG welding stainless steel is essential.
  • Ability to weld to a high standard and demonstrate TIG 6G capability.
  • Experience working with 304 and 316 stainless steels.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a small team.
  • Professional approach with a strong awareness of safe working practices.
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete a welding test at interview stage.

Working Hours

  • Up to 37 hours per week.
  • Monday to Friday working pattern.
  • Part-time applications will be considered for the right candidate.
  • Permanent position following a successful probation period.

Pay & Benefits

  • £16.00 per hour.
  • Equivalent annual salary of approximately £30,000 - £32,000.
  • Permanent, full-time opportunity.
  • Part-time opportunities considered.
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Holiday entitlement increases by 0.5 days per completed calendar year of service, up to a maximum of 27 days.
  • 3-month trial period.
