Maambo is looking for a brilliant TikTok creator who understands two worlds exceptionally well: social media culture and mental wellness.

Maambo is a UK peer-support platform built around a simple idea: sometimes you don't need therapy you need to talk to someone who genuinely understands what you're going through.

We talk about the things people are already discussing privately and online: loneliness, relationships, breakups, divorce, friendships, burnout, work stress, parenting, confidence and the messy realities of everyday life.

Now we're looking for someone who can turn those conversations into TikTok content people stop, watch, comment on, share and remember.

The Role

This is not a traditional social-media management role.

We want a creator and ideas person who understands TikTok instinctively and can take ownership of Maambo's presence on the platform.

You'll identify conversations people are already having, spot emerging trends and cultural moments, and turn them into original Maambo content.

Some content will be funny. Some will be provocative. Some will make people think, "I've never heard anyone say that out loud before."

Most importantly, it should feel human not corporate.

What You'll Do

  • Create original short-form TikTok content for Maambo from concept through to finished video.
  • Develop strong hooks and ideas around mental wellness, relationships, loneliness, friendships, burnout, parenting and everyday emotional struggles.
  • Understand what people are talking about on TikTok and identify conversations Maambo can authentically join.
  • Spot trends, memes, formats and cultural moments early and know which ones are actually relevant to our brand.
  • Script, film and edit engaging short-form videos.
  • Create content that encourages comments, discussion, shares and community participation.
  • Test different hooks, formats and creative approaches and learn from performance.
  • Engage intelligently with relevant TikTok conversations and communities.
  • Bring new ideas to us rather than waiting to be given a weekly list of instructions.
  • Work independently, manage your own workload and deliver consistently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For

You are probably the person in your friendship group who notices what's happening online before everyone else does.

You understand TikTok beyond simply knowing the latest trending sound.

You understand why people comment, why they share, why certain conversations explode and why others disappear.

You should have:

  • Strong knowledge of TikTok, internet culture and social storytelling.
  • A genuine interest in mental health, mental wellness, psychology, relationships or human behaviour.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and judgement around sensitive subjects.
  • Experience creating short-form video content.
  • Strong writing skills, particularly hooks and conversational scripts.
  • Confidence using CapCut, InShot or similar editing tools.
  • The ability to create authentic content without relying on stock imagery.
  • A natural sense of humour and an understanding of Gen Z and millennial culture.
  • The confidence to challenge an idea when you think there is a better one.
  • A psychology or mental-health background would be particularly interesting to us, but you do not need to be a therapist or clinician.

You Must Love Working Independently

Maambo is an entrepreneurial, early-stage business.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being trusted to get on with things.

We are not looking for someone who needs constant direction, daily task lists or approval at every stage.

We want someone who researches, experiments, brings ideas to the table and takes ownership of their work.

You'll have freedom—but with that freedom comes responsibility for delivering consistently.

We'd Especially Love to Hear From You If...

  • You've created content for a mental-health, wellness, relationship, lifestyle or community brand.
  • You've built your own TikTok presence around psychology, relationships, wellbeing, culture or relatable life experiences.
  • You're a psychology/mental-health graduate who happens to be exceptionally good at TikTok and content creation.

What We're NOT Looking For

  • Someone who simply reposts trends.
  • Someone whose idea of TikTok strategy is adding trending audio to generic videos.
  • Someone who waits to be told exactly what to create.
  • And definitely not corporate mental-health content that sounds like it was written by a committee.

How to Apply

Forget the long cover letter.

Send us:

  1. Your CV or LinkedIn profile
  2. Examples of TikToks/Reels you've created
  3. Links to any accounts you've grown or contributed to
  4. Three TikTok ideas you would create for Maambo after looking at our brand
  5. One TikTok account you think is doing something genuinely clever right now and tell us why

We care much more about your ideas, judgement and creative instinct than a perfect CV.

Self-employed / freelance position. UK-based applicants only.
