Kinetic plc are currently recruiting for an experienced TIG/MIG Welder to join a modern manufacturing facility in North Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder looking for a temporary-to-permanent position, working on a varied range of manufacturing projects including one-off fabrications and batch production.
The Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality welds across a range of materials, thicknesses and welding positions. The work will include:
- TIG and MIG welding
- Welding mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Welding stainless steel from as thin as 0.9mm
- Welding mild steel up to approximately 10mm
- Working on both one-off fabrications and batch production
- Working to different welding positions and techniques
- Maintaining consistently high standards of weld quality and finish
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- Ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and to production requirements
The welds will not be coded, but a high standard of workmanship is essential, particularly when working with thin-gauge stainless steel.
About You
We are looking for an experienced welder with strong TIG/MIG capabilities and a proven background within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Essential:
- Strong TIG welding experience
- MIG welding experience
- Proven ability to TIG weld stainless steel from 0.9mm
- Experience welding mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Ability to weld different thicknesses and in different positions
- High attention to detail and quality
- Apprentice trained, NVQ Level 3 qualified or previously coded
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing/fabrication environment
- Previous coding experience is advantageous, although current coded welding certification is not required for this position.
