Description
Join our Timetabling and Module Selection team as a Timetabling Officer, helping to create accurate, clash-free academic timetables and manage student module allocations across our teaching sites.
You’ll work with staff and students to solve complex problems, provide excellent customer service and help improve our timetabling and module processes.
About the Role
Academic timetabling: Support the creation and maintenance of accurate, clash-free academic timetables across the University’s teaching sites, using TimeEdit.
Timetable requirements: Work with Course Leaders and senior academics to gather, understand and translate complex teaching requirements into workable timetable solutions.
Module administration: Set up and maintain accurate module records in SITS and ensure students are allocated to the correct modules and credits.
Module selection: Support and lead aspects of the annual module selection process, including maintaining student-facing selection portals and guidance.
Data accuracy and problem solving: Analyse information, identify and resolve timetable and module allocation issues, including non-standard or complex cases.
Customer service: Provide specialist advice and support to students and staff through the CRM and team inbox, explaining complex timetable and module information clearly and professionally.
Room booking: Support ad hoc room booking processes, particularly for teaching sites outside Bath.
Team collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Academic Registry and other University teams to deliver effective timetable and module services.
Operational support: Attend occasional meetings and travel to other teaching sites to support induction, operational reviews and other activities, including some out-of-hours work during peak periods.

About You
- Experience of providing excellent customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate data and records.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information, identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively, working independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
- Experience of working with databases or database packages, particularly where accurate data management is important.
- Experience of working within a Higher Education environment, particularly in relation to academic administration or student processes.
- Experience of working with complex information or processes, requiring careful interpretation and attention to detail.
- Experience of supporting or advising users on systems and processes, including explaining complex information clearly.
- Evidence of a proactive approach to personal and professional development, with a willingness to learn new systems and develop specialist knowledge.

Additional Information
Salary Grade 5 - Starting from £29,588 rising to £33,002 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- Some out of hours working will be occasionally required, including some evenings and specific weekends during the academic year (such as Induction and Registration)
- Opportunities for taking annual leave during peak times of year (especially September/October) will be limited, and leave at other times will need to be assessed across the team so that service provision is not impacted
