Tivoli Netcool OMNIbus SME

We are working with a leading global banking organisation to recruit an experienced IBM Tivoli Netcool Omnibus (NOI) SME to join their monitoring and event management function.

This is a key technical role responsible for the availability, stability, performance and operational effectiveness of a mission-critical monitoring estate supporting a large-scale, 24x7 enterprise environment.

You will provide technical leadership across Netcool Omnibus, Impact and WebGUI, driving improvements across monitoring, alerting, event correlation, automation and observability. You will work closely with infrastructure, network, middleware, application, cloud and service management teams to ensure effective monitoring coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain event monitoring, alerting, correlation, suppression, enrichment and automation rules.
  • Manage event workflows to improve operational response and reduce alert noise.
  • Support onboarding of new infrastructure, applications and services into the monitoring platform.
  • Provide SME-level support for monitoring incidents, problems and service requests.
  • Lead investigations into monitoring failures, event-processing issues and integration problems.
  • Provide technical support during major incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Integrate monitoring platforms with ITSM, ticketing, automation and reporting tools, including ServiceNow.
  • Develop automation scripts and tooling to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support event forwarding, gateways, APIs and third-party monitoring integrations.
  • Work with infrastructure, middleware, application, cloud and network teams to maintain effective monitoring coverage.
  • Define platform standards, monitoring policies and best practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and support procedures.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and observability roadmap and identify opportunities for platform modernisation.
  • Provide technical mentoring and knowledge sharing across engineering and operational teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
