Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is looking for a Tool Hire Assistant who's as passionate about sales and great service as we are.

As a Tool Hire Assistant at Jewson, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service. As part of the role, you will be required to drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resource to ensure efficient, effective and safe operations
  • Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team to maximise growth through pro-active cross selling
  • Deliver and collect customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring orders are accurate and all equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safely in accordance with company procedures
  • Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire product
  • Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational
  • Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping
  • Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant (e.g., breakers, saws, mixers, access equipment)

Working Hours:

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 07:00-16:30 or 7:30-17:00, with the requirement of working every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

  • Strong Sales skills and experience
