Education and Experience Requirements
Secondary school or A Level required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Position Purpose
The tool store person is responsible for the issuing, returning and maintenance of company tooling, equipment and consumables, in a safe and efficient manner with a focus on upholding work standards.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that tooling and consumables are stored and controlled in compliance with the company, manufacturers and regulatory requirements.
- Issue tooling and consumables from stock to the relevant work order.
- Act on any reported missing tools-equipment, reference SMP 6, as revised.
- Ensure that all tooling and test equipment is registered on the overall inventory listing and allocated a ‘GUL’ reference number before the equipment is issued for use.
- Ensure that a computer printout of all outstanding tooling is issued to the relevant aircraft maintenance engineer as required.
- Control the consumable stock items within the tool stores and on the hangar floor to ensure the stocks are maintained to the required levels.
- Monitor and control the ‘electrical charging’ of all relevant tooling and equipment and ensure that all items are maintained at an acceptable level.
- Control of inventory of short and long term quarantine cupboards, flammables cupboard, paint lockers and PTP cabinets.
- Liaising with Operations and Scheduling Departments on any new and/or loan tooling requirements.
- Raise the necessary requisitions, liaising with approved vendors and arranging shipment to and from the Farnborough Facility.
- Carry out receiving inspections of new and loan tooling and equipment to prove serviceability and fitness for purpose and a review of the current calibration status.
- Arrange return of loan tooling, raising requisitions and updating the tool control system accordingly.
- Remove all unserviceable or unsafe tools and equipment from service until the required repairs or modifications have been accomplished.
- Evaluate unserviceable tooling and arrange necessary repairs, including recalibration and certification as required.
- Maintain the tool control database and all records, including approval documentations, related to repairs, modifications and preventive maintenance.
- Conduct planned audits of all consolidated tool boxes in accordance with a defined schedule.
- Perform recommended inspections of tool boxes per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Maintain all records related to repairs, modifications and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure all consumables are ordered and maintained at an adequate level.
- Produce usage reports and audits of the vending system raising necessary requisitions, recording the receipt of consumables and ensuring the vending machines are stocked.
- Update Flash Drives, iPads and Technician Pocket Guides with current Technical Data.
- Maintain manufacturer’s technical data revisions and updates.

Other Requirements:
- Ability to operate personal computers, experience with Microsoft Windows/Windows NT and Microsoft Office Products, Word and Excel.
- Experience in warehouse, stockroom, material handling, technical operations, or transportation preferred.
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management, technical and non-technical personnel and co-workers.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 22.5 kg.
