Technical Tooling Lead (Alation & Profisee)
Location: London, UK
Hybrid Working: 3 days per week onsite
Inside IR35: £500.00 - £550.00 pd
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Technical Tooling Lead to drive the end-to-end implementation and rollout of Alation and Profisee within a major enterprise data transformation programme.
This is a highly visible role that combines programme leadership, stakeholder management, and technical oversight. You'll work across business, technology, data governance, and vendor teams to deliver strategic data management capabilities that support governance, metadata management, and master data management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Leadership
- Lead the planning, resourcing, and delivery of Alation and Profisee implementations.
- Develop and manage project plans, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and release schedules.
- Ensure delivery aligns with business objectives, governance requirements, and programme timelines.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the key point of contact between business stakeholders, data teams, technology teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Facilitate workshops, governance forums, and steering committees.
- Drive decision-making, manage expectations, and maintain strong stakeholder engagement.

Agile Delivery
- Lead delivery teams through backlog management, sprint planning, prioritisation, and dependency management.
- Track progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and blockers.
- Ensure delivery meets agreed scope, quality, budget, and timeline objectives.
Technical Oversight
- Oversee platform configuration, metadata onboarding, MDM implementation, integration activities, testing, and go-live planning.
- Ensure adherence to architecture standards, best practices, and operational readiness requirements.
- Support transition into BAU, including knowledge transfer and support model establishment.
Governance & Reporting
- Produce executive reporting, status updates, RAID logs, and delivery dashboards.
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where required to maintain delivery momentum.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading complex technology, data, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior leaders, vendors, and delivery teams.
- Experience delivering or implementing data management platforms such as:
- Alation
- Profisee
- Collibra
- Informatica
- Microsoft Purview
- Ataccama
- Similar enterprise tooling
- Strong understanding of:
- Data Governance
- Metadata Management
- Master Data Management (MDM)
- Data Quality
- Excellent planning, reporting, risk management, and programme delivery skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

- Experience delivering large-scale data transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of operational readiness and service transition activities.
