Toolmaker/Inspection Engineer

Location: Lillie Bridge, London

Pay Rate: £35.13 per hour (Umbrella rate, Inside IR35)

Contract: 6 months rolling

Start Date: ASAP

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Toolmaker/Inspection Engineer to join an expanding Calibration Department within Asset Performance Delivery (APD).

You will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and calibrating tools and equipment to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to required engineering standards. The role will support both internal operational teams and external commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate, inspect, and test tools and measuring equipment.
  • Verify measurements against required specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation.
  • Support internal teams with calibration requirements.
  • Provide calibration services to external customers.
  • Identify equipment requiring adjustment, repair, or further investigation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in tool calibration or engineering measurement.
  • Background in toolmaking, machining, precision engineering, or inspection.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and working to engineering tolerances.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and ensure equipment accuracy.
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or maintenance environment.
