TOOLMAKER
The Role
As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, maintenance and repair of tooling, gauges and fixtures, working to customer requirements, engineering drawings and tight tolerances. You will provide technical support to Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations, while working as part of a skilled Toolroom team.
Benefits
- Salary: £33,285 – £51,751 per annum, depending on experience/level
- Hours: 39 hours per week – Days: Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-4:00pm & Friday: 7:00am-12:00pm
- Location: Sheffield S9
- Contract: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and programme CNC milling machines, lathes and surface grinders
- Undertake CAD/CAM and manual design work
- Manufacture and repair tooling, gauges and fixtures
- Carry out bench fitting and die repairs
- Work with spark erosion and wire erosion
- Inspect components and work to tight tolerances
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Troubleshoot engineering and manufacturing issues
- Support improvements to manufacturing methods and processes
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and KPI information
- Work safely and maintain high standards of quality and housekeeping

About You
- Apprentice trained or equivalent practical experience
- Experienced in CNC setting, operating and programming
- Competent in reading engineering drawings
- Experienced with CAD/CAM
- Comfortable working to tight tolerances
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- A strong problem solver with a structured approach
- Flexible and willing to multi-task
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
