Toolmaker | £50,000–£60,000 DOE + Bonus
A well-established manufacturer is looking for an experienced Toolmaker to keep production moving.
This is a proper hands-on toolroom role. You will make, repair and maintain press tools, jigs and fixtures, get stuck into breakdowns when they happen, and help reduce downtime on the shop floor.
The role
- Make, assemble and repair press tools, jigs and fixtures
- Strip, inspect, fault-find and rebuild tooling
- Carry out preventative and reactive tool maintenance
- Produce precision parts from engineering drawings
- Use manual mills, lathes and grinders
- Bench fit and assemble to tight tolerances
- Support tool trials and modifications
- Help production quickly when tooling goes down

What we’re looking for
- Proven toolmaking experience
- Strong press tool, jig or fixture background
- Confident reading drawings
- Manual machining and bench fitting skills
- Good fault-finding ability
- CNC would be useful, but is not essential

The package
- £50,000–£60,000 DOE
- Early finish Friday: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–1:00pm
- Flexible hours where needed
- Performance-related Christmas bonus
