Role Overview - Toolmaker

Our client, a well-established manufacturer within the plastics sector, is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join their team in Hengoed.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled injection mould toolmaker to work on the manufacture, maintenance and improvement of production tooling within a modern manufacturing environment. The role offers genuine opportunities for training, development and career progression, making it ideal for someone looking to expand their technical and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities - Toolmaker

  • Manufacture new injection mould tools from engineering drawings and 3D CAD data.
  • Repair, maintain and modify existing production tooling.
  • Operate toolroom machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Support tooling and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Assist with apprentice development and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.

Key Experience & Requirements - Toolmaker

  • Qualified Toolmaker with experience in injection mould tooling.
  • CNC machining experience.
  • CAD/CAM knowledge.
  • Experience working with hardened steel production tools.
  • Knowledge of hot runner systems, valve gates and manifolds.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
