Toolmaker - Bridgwater - £42,000 - £45,000

Rotating 2 Shift Pattern

Would you enjoy a Toolmaker role where you're not just repairing tooling but helping develop new tooling solutions and improve manufacturing processes?

Yolk Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Toolmaker to join a growing engineering team within a precision manufacturing environment.

This role offers a varied workload, combining precision tool manufacture, refurbishment, tooling improvements and engineering support. You'll work closely with Production, Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure tooling meets the demands of a fast-moving manufacturing operation.

This is what you'll be doing

  • You'll be responsible for supporting production through the manufacture, improvement and maintenance of precision tooling using a range of conventional and semi-CNC machine tools.
  • Manufacture new tooling and tooling components from engineering drawings.
  • Refurbish, modify and improve existing tooling.
  • Work on tooling projects supporting new products and manufacturing developments.
  • Provide practical engineering solutions to manufacturing challenges.
  • Contribute to tooling innovation, process improvement and operational efficiency.

The experience you'll bring to the team

  • Proven Toolmaker or Toolroom Engineering experience.
  • Strong manual and CNC machining capability.
  • Experience producing precision tooling to demanding tolerances.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

There's also some must haves

  • Apprentice-trained or equivalent engineering background.
  • Milling and turning experience.
  • Ability to work a rotating two-shift pattern.
