Role Description
The Toolroom Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Redditch, responsible for overseeing daily operations within the toolroom. This role manages and coordinates toolroom staff, plans workloads, and ensures tooling, fixtures, and equipment are available to support production requirements. Day-to-day activities include supervising machining and tooling activities, prioritizing maintenance and repair tasks, monitoring toolroom performance, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The Toolroom Supervisor collaborates with engineering and production teams on tooling design improvements, troubleshooting tooling and fixture issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, managing inventory of tools and materials, and supporting training and development of toolroom personnel.

Qualifications

- Strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, workload planning, and performance management.
- Tooling Design and Fixtures expertise to support the creation, modification, and optimization of tools and dies.
- Machining experience, including practical knowledge of CNC and manual machines, tooling selection, and safe operating practices.
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose tooling and equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, tooling, or machining (or equivalent experience) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of aerospace or precision manufacturing standards, quality systems, and health and safety regulations is advantageous.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and meet deadlines.
