About the Role

This Surveyor position is based at WSP’s Leeds office within the UK-wide Surveying Services team, working collaboratively with Buried Services Surveying, UAV, and MBS teams. You’ll be part of an exciting role that involves:

  • Coordinating live projects
  • Carrying out land and engineering surveys in line with technical briefs and specifications
  • Processing and quality-checking projects while maintaining strict adherence to WSP’s prevailing standards
  • Mentoring junior team members

Surveying Services leverages the power of joined-up geospatial technologies to deliver meaningful locational insights.

Office & Working Environment

  • Leeds-based office with excellent transport links
  • Convenient access to local shops, cafés, parking, and a nearby train station
  • Part of a team of 45 Surveyors across the UK, including Topographical, Measured Building & Buried Services Surveyors and UAV Pilots
  • UK-wide surveying projects with a diverse client base ranging from Local Authorities to Multi-Discipline Consultants

Your Team

Key Responsibilities

You’ll need to demonstrate the following capabilities and expertise:

Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant technical degree or HND in surveying, or related discipline, with significant experience in a similar role
  • Membership of a professional surveying body would be an advantage

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of project and commercial considerations
  • Proficiency in using total stations, GNSS equipment, and terrestrial laser scanners
  • Experience with relevant surveying software, including:
    • N4ce (or similar)
    • Trimble Business Centre (or similar)
    • AutoCAD
  • Advantageous (but not essential) experience with:
    • UAV planning and piloting
    • Buried Services Surveys
    • Knowledge of Cyclone or Cloudworx
