Tour Operations Risk and Inventory Analyst
We have a fantastic opportunity for a detail-focused, analytical professional to join a leading cruise and travel organization based in Redditch, as a Tour Operations Risk and Inventory Analyst.
About the Role
The Tour Operations Risk & Inventory Analyst plays a pivotal role in protecting business profitability, optimizing capacity, and ensuring commercial rigor across all tour packages. Bridging the gap between Finance, Product, and Tour Operations, this role conducts rigorous pricing and margin audits on new packages and maintains contract tracking systems to mitigate financial loss and maximize operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact between Product, Operations, and Finance for cabin allocations, upgrades, and release dates
- Identify underperforming cabin allocations early and coordinate strategic releases or promotional pushes to minimize cancellation penalties
- Act as a key gatekeeper in the package approval process, auditing proposed tour itineraries, pricing, and package structures before launch
- Analyze historic supplier costs, previous year performance, and current economic indicators to ensure packages reflect accurate rates and cost increases
- Verify margin thresholds and ensure all embedded tour, flight, hotel, and transit costs are accurately reflected in the final selling price
- Audit supplier contract conditions (cancellation terms, payment schedules, minimum group size requirements) to reduce financial exposure
- Continuously track low-pickup and low-number tours, flagging commercial risks to the Finance and Product teams
- Partner closely with the Tour Ops Supply Team to review low-demand departures and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Provide actionable financial analysis to support go/no-go decisions on at-risk tours

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
